Selamat berpuasa

Almost 8 days dah we all fasting. Tak terasa sangat cepat je masa berlalu. Anw, first five days of fasting month, I didn't cook at all, coz mom was cooking for us all. Sometimes we will top up with some kuihs and sometimes not bcoz most of the time, kuih terbuang begitu saja.

First day of Ramadhan, mom cooked ikan patin (we bought it at Temerloh, by roadside aquarium when we went to my brother's house on Saturday). She cooked Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin (mom is a typical Perak lady, always love tempoyak one). But I like tempoyak also, but in sambal manner.

Since En K is not really concern with patin in sangkar plus he didn't really fancy gulai tempoyak unless it was cooked in masak lemak cili padi, so I fried some ikan talapia merah. Mom also prepared some sambal macang and petai. She also made some cucur udang. En K bought some kuihs at the bazar earlier.

Well, I can't really remember what she cooked for us for the rest of the week. Some ayam masak merah, sup sayur sawi, rendang pedas daging, cempedak goreng and budu.

So, it was my turn to cook when it comes to Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, after work, I went to the nearby mini market and bought stuffs for Nasi Minyak. Mom requested daging dendeng. She cooked ikan patin masak tempoyak (again).

Nasi Minyak

3 cawan beras – dibersih dan ditoskan
3 cawan air
1 batang serai – diketuk
1/2 paket gajus
1 paket kecil kismis (I used my son's leftover Kismis Minda)
2 labu bawang besar – dicincang
4 ulas bawang putih – dicincang
1/2 inci halia – dicincang
1/2 tin susu cair
4 sudu besar minyak sapi
2 pokok daun sup – dihiris
1 batang kulit kayu manis
1 kuntum bunga lawang
3 kuntum bunga cengkih
1 biji buah pelaga
1 sudu kecil garlic butter
Garam secukup rasa

Panaskan minyak sapi dan garlic butter dan goreng gajus hingga kekuningan, ketepikan. Gunakan minyak yang sama, masukkan kulit kayu manis, bunga lawang, bunga cengkih dan buah pelaga. Tumis hingga wangi.

Masukkan bawang besar, bawang putih dan halia cincang. Tumis hingga wangi. Masukkan ke dalam periuk nasi berisi beras. Gaul rata. Masukkan juga, susu cair, serai, gajus goreng, kismis, daun sup, air dan garam. Masak nasi seperti biasa sambil kacau sekali sekala.

Daging Dendeng

1/2 kg daging – direbus hingga empuk
Kicap manis dan kicap masin secukupnya
2 sudu besar cuka

Hiris daging ikut suka dan perapkan dengan kicap manis, kicap masin dan cuka selama beberapa jam.

Bahan-bahan dikisar:
3 labu (sederhana) bawang besar
3 ulas bawang putih
Segenggam cili kering – direbus dan dibuang biji
1 inci halia
Minyak untuk menumis

1 biji kentang – dipotong ikut suka, digoreng dan diketepikan

Panaskan minyak dan tumis bahan kisar hingga naik minyak. Masukkan daging bersama bahan perapan. Perasakan. Ikut suka sama ada hendak pekat atau berkuah.

My version berkuah sikit sebab family suka ada kuah. Kalau ikut version Che Sue pun sedap, aku suka je kering ke kuah ke.
