After work. At first I thought of cooking fried rice because I though I have some left-over's rice. But when I checked on it, only a little. Then I saw a packet of yellow mee and why not I cook Mee Hailam. Ingat-ingat lupa resipi yang Yong bagi (ari tu makan kat umah dia, bertambah-tambah ahkak). So buat la mee hailam version Yong with a little modification.
Mee Hailam (Yong's version)
Serves 2 person
Ingredients
1/2 packet yellow mee - rinsed with water, set aside
2 garlics - crushed
3 shallots - sliced
2 chicken breasts - cubed
2 tbsp minced beef (RAMLY)
4 fishballs - halved
2 stalks mustard leaves - cut lengthwise
2 tbsp chilli paste (prepared)
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp thick soy sauce
1/2 tsp crushed black pepper
Water
Salt (if needed)
Oil
Method
1. Heat oil and saute garlic and shallots till fragrant.
2. Put in chilli paste and saute till oil surface.
3. Put in chicken cubes and minced meat, stir.
4. Add in enough water, let it boil then add in all the sauce together with soy sauce and black pepper. Add in fishballs and mustard leaves.
5. Put in some salt (if needed) and add in yellow me, stir quickly and served with fried shallots, daun sup, daun bawang, sliced red chillies.
